Security Building Supplies in Regina, Saskatchewan is seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and materials handling, with the ability to efficiently manage inventory and ensure smooth shipping and receiving processes. This role is crucial for maintaining the organisation and functionality of our warehouse, contributing to overall operational success.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stocking and storage practices are followed.
- Perform picking and packing duties for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order fulfilment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading goods from lorries.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock accuracy and report discrepancies as needed.
- Provide support in mechanical tasks when required, leveraging any relevant construction knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to improve warehouse processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as AS400 is advantageous.
- Strong skills in materials handling, including heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs).
- Experience in stocking, picking & packing, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
