A Bread Affair is a certified organic artisan bakery located on Granville Island and Langley. Rooted in community, agriculture, and the Pacific coast, our baking reflects the unique combination of soil, climate, and craft that defines Vancouver. We are not a French bakery or an Italian bakery. We are of this place, Vancouver.
Our work is grounded in West Coast values: sustainability, responsible sourcing, and certified organic ingredients. We stand against industrial food production, GMOs, and factory farming, and support humane and ethical practices in everything we do.

We are looking for someone to join our bakery as the Assistant Fulfillment Team Lead. You will work with a group of 2 - 3 other team members as we package and sort our daily selections of gourmet bread and buns. This is a full-time overnight position (roughly 30 hours per week), with shifts that start at 9:00 pm, and go until around 2 - 3 am.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Working on the floor in fulfillment receiving and packaging orders
- Doing quality control checks throughout to ensure bread is to standard
- Assisting the team lead in team management
- Scheduling employees
- Payroll/Time Keeping
- Providing daily reports to upper management when necessary
- Onboarding and training new hires
- Creating a positive and welcoming environment for all staff
- Moving vehicles from the parking lot to the loading bay
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a supervisory role (Required)
- Valid Driver's License (Required)
- Precise attention to detail
- Strong multitasking and delegation abilities
- The ability to work efficiently and maintain deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exemplary verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
