Breka Bakery & Café is a Vancouver family business, baking fresh since 2006 and regularly voted among the city's best bakeries and cafés. Our central-kitchen cake team makes everything that fills the display cases across our 9 locations and we're looking for a part-time Cake Baker Assistant to join us.
This is a hands-on role for someone reliable, energetic, and genuinely excited to learn. Some baking experience helps, but attitude matters most: if you show up, work hard, and want to get better, we'll teach you the rest.
What your day looks like
- Measure and mix ingredients on our commercial mixers
- Prep the components for the day's cakes
- Make ganache and other fillings
- Keep your station clean and organized
What we're looking for
- Reliable and dependable, you show up for your shifts
- Comfortable lifting 20–25 kg throughout the day
- Open schedule to work flexible days and available to work weekends and holidays
- 1 year of Baking experience or pastry
- Passionate to produce high-quality products consistently
- Hard-working and high energy is a must
- Self-motivated and can work independently but in a team as well
- Understand work efficiency well and thrive to improve the productivity
Schedule & pay
- Part-time, 3 days/week, 8-hour shifts (10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.)
- Starting at $19.50/hour, with salary increases based on performance
- Central kitchen: 8811 Laurel Street, Vancouver
