Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Homeroom Teacher to join our upper elementary teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of core subjects including Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies, while integrating Islamic values throughout daily instruction and classroom culture.
This role involves creating a nurturing and intellectually engaging environment that supports the academic, emotional, and spiritual development of all students in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
- Integrate Islamic values and character development into daily teaching and classroom routines.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and academic effort.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with subject specialists, administrators, and fellow teachers to support student learning and school initiatives.
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level (preferably Grades 3–5).
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Curriculum and assessment practices.
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to fostering Islamic character and values in students.
- Current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of Islamic education.
- Fluent in French, preferred.
