Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment/Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience with various types of industrial equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role is essential in supporting our operations and ensuring that all equipment is functioning efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Assemble and disassemble components of heavy equipment as needed.
- Utilize power tools and other mechanical equipment to perform repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working on equipment.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as required during repair processes.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in welding techniques for metal repairs.
- Experience working with Cummins and Paccar machinery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dealership standards for servicing industrial equipment.
- Ability to effectively use power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
