This role is intended for a recently designated CPA with strong small or mid-sized public accounting firm experience who is ready to take ownership of client files, review junior staff work, mentor CPA students, and contribute to the continued development of our practice. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who is working toward a future manager role and wants to build the technical judgment, client advisory skills, review experience, and team leadership capabilities needed for that next step. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, client-focused accounting professional who enjoys technical variety, direct client contact, team leadership, and a collaborative small-firm environment.
What We Offer
· A comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive base salary, bonus, benefits, paid CPA dues, and other perks.
· A senior public practice role with meaningful responsibility for client files, accounting and tax work, file review, client communication, and team support.
· The opportunity to build on your CPA designation by developing as a trusted client advisor and a day-to-day resource for CPA students and junior team members.
· Support from an experienced, collaborative team, with opportunities to strengthen your technical judgment, review skills, client advisory abilities, and small-firm leadership capabilities as you work toward a future manager role.
Main Responsibilities
· Take ownership of assigned client files, including planning work, organizing information requests, preparing or reviewing working papers, identifying issues, and ensuring files are completed efficiently and accurately.
· Prepare and review bookkeeping, accounting records, bank reconciliations, payroll support, GST/PST filings, month-end or year-end schedules, and related client deliverables.
· Prepare and review compilation and review engagement files, financial statements, supporting schedules, management analysis, and other assurance or non-assurance engagements, depending on client needs and experience.
· Prepare and review personal, corporate, trust, and other tax filings.
· Mentor, train, and support the firm’s CPA students by assigning appropriate work, reviewing files, answering technical questions, providing practical file guidance, and helping them develop strong public practice habits.
· Maintain the confidentiality of client information and follow professional standards in all client matters.
· Communicate professionally and proactively with clients, including following up on outstanding information, explaining accounting or tax matters, and escalating complex issues when appropriate.
· Contribute to firm workflow, file efficiency, quality control, and process improvement by identifying practical ways to improve client service, internal procedures, and team effectiveness.

· Excellent organization, attention to detail, deadline management, prioritization, and written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to mentor CPA students, provide constructive review comments, explain technical matters clearly, and help junior team members build confidence, efficiency, and professional judgment.
