Job Description & Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Apprentice / Helper to join our team. You will partner up directly with our Lead Glazier to transport, handle, and install custom glass products, including heavy glass showers and commercial storefronts.
- Load & Prep: Assist the Lead in loading the installation van with glass and hardware. Ensure everything is secured properly so nothing shifts or breaks on the road.
- On-Site Installation: Work side-by-side with the Lead to carry, position, and hold glass during installs. Anticipate the next step and keep tools ready.
- Site Clean-up: Keep the job site organized and safe. Clean the glass post-install and ensure the customer’s property is spotless before you leave.
- Communication & Reliability: Show up on time, ready to work, and take direction well to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
Requirements:
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy loads (50–75+ lbs) safely with a partner.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and reading a tape measure accurately.
- Reliable transportation to get to the shop in Ajax every morning on time.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn the trade.
- An Ontario Driver’s License (G2 or G) is a strong asset/beneficial, but not mandatory.
- Experience in construction, moving, landscaping, or renovation is a big asset.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
