Social Worker

Position Summary
The Social Worker supports women in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside through advocacy, systems navigation, case management, and connection to housing, healthcare, cultural programming, and social supports.
Working within an interdisciplinary outreach team, this role helps improve access to services while promoting culturally safe, trauma-informed, and harm reduction approaches to care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client intakes, assessments, and case planning.
- Support clients in accessing healthcare, housing, income assistance, legal supports, and community resources.
- Provide advocacy and systems navigation.
- Accompany clients to appointments when appropriate.
- Maintain confidential case documentation and records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and outreach activities.
- Build trusting relationships with women experiencing complex barriers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW).
- Registration with the BC College of Social Workers.
- Experience in case management, outreach, or community-based social services.
- Strong knowledge of issues impacting women in the Downtown Eastside.
- Commitment to cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and harm reduction.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is highly desirable.
