We are a successful, busy and growing family practice providing all aspects of general dentistry in a beautiful , new dental clinic in a safe and growing neighbourhood in South Edmonton.
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Dental Administrator/Receptionist to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in dental office operations, and a passion for providing exceptional patient service. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and ensure smooth administrative workflows within the practice. Your expertise will contribute significantly to maintaining an efficient, welcoming environment that prioritizes patient care and operational excellence.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for all visitors.
- Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Open Dental, ensuring optimal utilization of provider time.
- Verify patient insurance information, process claims, and handle billing inquiries accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records by updating electronic systems with current information.
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls appropriately and providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence to support daily office operations.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure patient flow is seamless and all documentation complies with regulatory standards.
- Uphold confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while fostering a professional office environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working of atleast 5 years as a dental receptionist /administrator in a clinic performing general dentistry is a must
- Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of terminology relevant to dental and healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated experience handling electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
- Dental Office experience involving front desk responsibilities, multi-line phone systems, and administrative support is essential.
