Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bridal Seamstress to join our team in creating and customizing exquisite wedding gowns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves working closely with clients to bring their bridal visions to life, ensuring each gown fits perfectly and meets the highest standards of quality. The Bridal Seamstress will play a vital role in making memorable moments for our clients by providing expert tailoring and alterations for wedding dresses and related bridal attire. Please note knowledge of patternmaking is not necessary but considered and asset and wage is dependant on experience.
Responsibilities
- Create custom wedding gowns for clients from a paper pattern
- Ensure precise fitting through detailed sewing, hemming, and adjustments
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail in all work
- Manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding progress and any necessary adjustments
- Keep work area organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies
Experience
- Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor, preferably specializing in bridal or formal wear
- Strong sewing skills with proficiency in hand sewing and machine sewing techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and fabric estimations
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for clients
- Knowledge of different fabrics, embellishments, and construction techniques specific to bridal wear is a plus
- Attention to detail, patience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Owning a reliable vehicle and the willingness to travel between Kamloops and Kelowna is a must.
This position offers an opportunity to be part of a creative team dedicated to making special occasions unforgettable through expertly crafted bridal attire. We have a studio in Kamloops and are opening a new space in Kelowna where in person fittings at both locations may be necessary and travel expenses will be compensated.
