About the Role
This is not a traditional sales role.
As a Business Development Associate, you’ll act as a trusted partner to subcontractors—helping them navigate challenges, uncover opportunities, and get real value from our platform. You’ll combine relationship-building, problem-solving, and commercial thinking to grow your portfolio and make a tangible impact on your clients’ success.

We believe great work happens through collaboration, connection, and flexibility. This role is based in our downtown Toronto office, with 3–5 days in person to support team collaboration and relationship-building, and flexibility when you need it.
What you’ll do:
- Develop strategies to build relationships with new and existing clients
- Increase revenue by discussing and negotiating payment terms and renewals
- Own and execute the business development strategy to drive new revenue growth and expand market presence
- Proactively grow your regional portfolio of accounts
- Confidently communicate the value of the COMPASS product suite to subcontractors
- Engage, potential customers via phone, email, live chat, and webinars
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to drive client adoption Partner with internal teams to share client insights to enhance product offerings
- Identify opportunities to increase adoption, retention, and long-term client value
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or account management
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to challenge the status quo
- Strong phone, video, and written communication skills with a professional, client-first approach
- Prior client-facing experience in construction or SaaS is an asset
- Tech-savvy, adaptable, and comfortable learning and explaining new technologies
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and initiatives
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, Salesforce, and related tools
- Ability to work in a fast pace downtown Toronto office 4–5 days per week.
