Pine River Institute is a unique treatment center for youth 13 to 19 years of age struggling with substance abuse and addictive behaviours. Our program encompasses four seamless phases that include Outdoor Leadership Experience, Live In, Transition, and Aftercare; which create opportunities for youth to engage in a focused transformation of therapy, education, recreation, life skills, alongside a parental/caregiver parallel process.

Position: Part-Time Maintenance Worker (24 hours/week with flexibility to work rotating shifts depending on needs)

Reports to: Facility Manager
Salary: $22.00/hour
The ideal candidate will demonstrate good time management skills, be well rounded in general repair, detail oriented with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and minor maintenance on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and other equipment as required
- Perform minor repairs on lights, doors, locks, washroom fixtures, drywall, painting, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, other areas/equipment as required to maintain the health and safety standards
- Grass cutting/trimming and minor landscaping work
- Snow removal from sidewalks & entrances using manual and power equipment
- Keep all vehicles and equipment clean and taken for regular maintained.
- Be a team player by supporting and encouraging fellow colleagues and other
- employees, students of PRI
- Flexibility to work between maintenance and custodial teams as needs arise
- Other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Completion of secondary school
- 5 + years experience in minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, drywall and painting
- Ability to operate equipment and hand-power tools applicable to the role including but not limited to tractor, lawnmower, snow-blower, trimmer, etc.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with other team members as necessary
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- WHMIS Certified
- Clean Police check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Valid G drivers license
