Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain. The ideal candidate will manage freight movement, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in data entry, and the ability to analyze logistical data to optimize routes and schedules. The Dispatcher plays a vital role in maintaining efficient shipping and receiving processes, supporting our commitment to excellent service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of shipments
- Utilize analysis skills to optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall supply chain efficiency
- Maintain accurate data entry related to freight movements, delivery schedules, and inventory updates
- Monitor freight status and troubleshoot issues related to transportation delays or discrepancies
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate third-party logistics services effectively
- Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating pickups, deliveries, and warehouse activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as SyteLine or AS400 is preferred
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures
- Excellent data entry skills with high typing accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analysis skills to interpret logistical data for route planning and problem-solving
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of freight regulations, shipping documentation, and warehouse operations is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working with 3PL providers or in freight coordination is desirable
