Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry & Construction
- Perform general carpentry work including:
- • Wood framing modifications
- Blocking and backing installation
- Exterior trim and finishing
- Temporary structures and hoarding
- Site protection installation
- Concrete formwork and small pours
- Rough and finish carpentry
- Complete framing repairs and adjustments as required.
- Assist with building envelope detailing and installation support.
- Construct temporary stairs, railings, ramps, and site access solutions.
- Install hardware, accessories, and miscellaneous finishes.
Deficiency & Quality Control
- Complete deficiency repairs identified by consultants, municipalities, homeowners, and internal quality inspections.
- Conduct pre-occupancy touch-ups and repairs.
- Support project turnover and occupancy preparation.
- Maintain high workmanship standards and attention to detail.
Site Operations Support
- Assist Superintendent with site logistics and coordination.
- Maintain site cleanliness and organization.
- Install and maintain site signage, fencing, and temporary protection.
- Coordinate material deliveries and storage.
- Assist with waste management and recycling programs.
Safety
- Follow all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Participate in toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
- Maintain safe work practices and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used and maintained properly.
Warranty & Service Work
- Complete homeowner warranty repairs as required.
- Troubleshoot construction deficiencies and implement corrective solutions.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with homeowners and occupants.
Qualifications Required
- 3–7 years of residential construction experience.
- Experience in wood-frame residential construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Experience operating common carpentry tools and equipment.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications Preferred
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification.
- Apprentice Carpenter (3rd or 4th Year) actively pursuing certification.
- Experience with townhome, condominium, or apartment construction.
- First Aid Certification.
- Telehandler, skid steer, or aerial work platform certification.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or construction management software.
