Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of hands-on technical work and client interaction. Our RVTs play a key role in patient care, with surgical assistance primarily required on designated surgery days.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and patient care
- Provide surgical and anesthesia support on surgery days (generally no surgeries on Tuesdays)
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and patient preparation, recovery
- Conduct dental cleanings and dental radiography
- Collect and process laboratory samples (in-house diagnostics)
- Take and process radiographs, bloodwork and other diagnostics as needed
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records using Avimark
- Support overall clinic workflow and patient care
Schedule
- Clinic hours: Monday to Saturday (No surgeries on Tuesdays)
- RVT surgical responsibilities primarily scheduled on surgery days
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Strong technical skills in patient handling and anesthesia monitoring
- Experience with dentistry and radiology preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Avimark is an asset
