Windows Support Engineer
Procom is seeking an experienced Windows Support Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure operations in a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment. This role is ideal for a technical professional with strong Windows Server administration experience, infrastructure automation skills, and a passion for maintaining critical production systems.
- Deploy, maintain, upgrade, and support Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Provide Level 2 support for critical infrastructure and production systems.
- Support application owners, developers, and internal stakeholders through an enterprise ticketing platform.
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and system health.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Azure services.
- Create and maintain detailed operational documentation, SOPs, change records, and root cause analyses.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in on-call support rotations and occasional after-hours work as required.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience supporting critical applications in a hybrid infrastructure environment.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience administering:
- Windows Server environments
- Microsoft Group Policy
- Microsoft SCCM
- Minimum 2 years of experience with performance and capacity monitoring of critical server environments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using technologies such as:
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Microsoft Azure
- Experience maintaining and upgrading Windows Server 2016 through Windows Server 2022 environments.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and support.
- Experience with scripting and automation using:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Ansible Playbooks
- Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure processes and deploy orchestration solutions.
- Hybrid work arrangement with regular onsite presence in Ottawa.
- Full-time hours (37.5 hours per week).
- Participation in scheduled on-call rotations.
- Occasional overtime and after-hours support may be required.
