Role Summary
Above & Beyond Care Services is seeking a dependable and compassionate Team Lead – Community Disability Support Worker to support individuals with disabilities while providing day-to-day leadership to frontline care teams. This role is ideal for someone with prior Team Lead experience or a strong Community Disability Support Worker ready to step into the next stage of their career.
The successful candidate must bring strong judgement, excellent documentation, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to safe, respectful, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, guide, and support Community Disability Support Workers during daily operations to ensure safe, consistent, and person-centred service delivery.

Support individuals with daily living activities, personal care, routines, meal support, community participation, and independence-building goals.

Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, professionally, and on time, including daily notes, incident reports, communication logs, client updates, and required forms.

Communicate clearly and promptly with frontline staff, Operations, HR, families, guardians, and other stakeholders as required.

Monitor service quality, staff conduct, client safety, and adherence to care plans, behaviour support plans, routines, and organisational expectations.

Provide coaching, support, and direction to team members while promoting accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and respectful workplace conduct.

Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents, escalations, behavioural concerns, or urgent client needs, following ABCS policies and reporting procedures.

Support scheduling coverage, shift handovers, attendance expectations, and operational continuity across assigned locations when required.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, confidentiality, medication, documentation, and abuse prevention/reporting requirements.

Travel between Rocky View County, Airdrie, and other assigned locations as required to support clients, staff, and operational needs.
Required Qualifications

Previous experience as a Team Lead, Senior Support Worker, Community Disability Support Worker, Health Care Aide, Behaviour Support Worker, or similar role is preferred.

Candidates ready to step into a leadership role may also be considered where they show strong judgement, maturity, and reliability.

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, complex needs, behavioural support needs, seniors, or chronic health conditions is an asset.

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required.

Reliable vehicle and ability to travel between locations is required.

Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening required.

First Aid and CPR certification preferred or required prior to commencement.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to complete high-quality documentation and follow reporting expectations.
