1. Purpose of the position:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of Encorp’s collection network and supporting the efficient delivery of operational programs. The position provides operational leadership, coordinates service providers and Redemption Centers, monitors operational performance and compliance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
Working closely with the Director of Operations, the Operations Supervisor supports business planning, problem-solving, and operational decision-making while helping drive organizational objectives and service excellence.
2. Major Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
· Oversee day-to-day collection network and operations, ensuring compliance with operational standards, safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and service expectations.
· Support Redemption Centre and service provider performance through relationship management, issue resolution, monitoring of contractual requirements, and implementation of operating standards.
· Coordinate material flow and logistics activities, including shipment planning, inventory movement, operational transactions, and the efficient transfer of recyclable materials to end markets.
· Monitor operational performance and compliance, conduct audits, support corrective actions, and escalate risks, service issues, or operational concerns as required.
· Lead, coach, and support operations staff, providing day-to-day supervision, performance feedback, training, and development to promote safe and effective operations.
· Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, service delivery, and overall operational performance.
· Support business planning and decision-making by preparing operational reports, performance analyses, budget input, and recommendations for management review.
Policy and Administrative Support
· Support the development, implementation, and review of operational policies and procedures.
· Monitor operational compliance with corporate policies and legislative requirements.
· Assist in preparing reports, recommendations, and operational analyses for senior leadership.
· Perform other duties as required.
3. Education and Expertise Required:
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered experience.
Experience should include:
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, logistics, recycling, waste management, or related fields, including experience coordinating operational activities, service providers, and stakeholder relationships. Experience leading or supervising employees is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and health and safety standards.

- Proven leadership including; coaching, and team development.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of logistics, business operations, and good business practices.
- Experience with processing facilities, manufacturing operations, material handling systems, recycling operations, or other industrial environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment on when to seek guidance.
- High level of initiative, adaptability, and organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate operational improvements and system enhancements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and standard business/operational systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the province.
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours on short notice.
4. Compensation
Target salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
