This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 4 June 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 11 June 2026.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To utilize the nursing process in providing patient centered care, assessment and teaching within the Diagnostic Imaging program. To participate and function as a member of the multidisciplinary care team. To maintain nursing records and on line documentation. To provide pre, during and post procedure patient care. To provide related health education to patients and/or families and the health care team. To perform other related duties as assigned. As an individual practitioner, the nurse will maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Qualified to practice within current CNO R.P.N. Scope of Practice guidelines;
- Successful completion of physical assessment course with current competency, medication administration course or diploma equivalents required with proven competence in administration of medications according to the standards of practice from the college of Nurses of Ontario;
- Current successful completion of B.C.L.S certificate required;
- Successful completion of IV line certification;
- Knowledge of monitoring of conscious sedation to the patient;
- Competent to assist with Interventional procedures;
- 2-3 years of current (within 2 years) acute surgical &/or medical nursing experience preferred;
- Capable of wearing personal protective equipment as regulated; lead lined full apron device weighing approximately 13 pounds for extended time frame up to 3 hours at a time for interventional procedures;
- Physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with assistance;
- Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
- Proven ability to assess and provide related health education to patients and/or families and the health care team;
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change in patient care assignments within the Diagnostic Imaging program:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with exceptional ability to communicate information in a comprehensible, relevant and accurate manner;
- Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships using knowledge, tact and empathy in a family centred care environment; proven effective good team dynamics and supportive of positive culture.
- Proven effective organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, and time-management, problem- solving and teaching skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning and supportive of scope of practice enhancement.
- Membership in RPNAO and other professional nursing associations preferred.
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area
