Position Summary
This is for a vacant internal sales position requiring strong communication, customer service, time management, and facilitation skills.
Supporting Welded Tube’s existing business, success in this role will require a passion for developing new business with a high degree of dedication, professionalism and integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Seek and explore all sales leads and opportunities, working with Outside Sales and reporting feedback to Management.
- Pursue opportunities to “up sell” and maximize customer orders
- Prepare responses to customer inquiries and follow-up with customers, obtaining feedback.
- Develop customer loyalty by addressing all customer inquiries, concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain accurate customer data.
- Accept, enter and verify customer orders for accuracy. Seek customer agreement (as required) confirming order is accurate and agreed upon.
- Expedite customer orders to coincide with customer’s required delivery date. Provide customer with updated delivery status as required.
- Provide support and training to other Inside Sales Representatives as required.
- Participate in WTC’s continuous improvement activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum College Diploma in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in customer service or sales, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with a computerized purchasing/inventory system.
- Occasional travel to customers’ locations is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with IFS ERP and AS400 systems is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of steel industry, especially tubing and its application is an asset.
