Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate level Project Manager for a client assignment with a construction and engineering background. Candidate must have proven Project Management experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction scope. The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific projects which have a beginning, an end, and specified deliverables. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with our design professionals, and internal and external clients. Additionally, the candidate must possess the skills to successfully direct site managers, and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating, and safely executing the work in accordance with guidelines. The candidate must be a professional and personable leader committed to the overall objective of the project.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead end-to-end construction project delivery from planning through closeout
- Drive procurement strategy, including vendor prequalification and bid coordination
- Manage full RFP process: development, vendor Q&A, evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation
- Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules for cost control and progress tracking
- Provide onsite construction management, supervising contractors and ensuring safety and quality
- Coordinate logistics and shipping to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Oversee work acceptance, verify deliverables, and compile closeout documentation and as-builts
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with all requirements
Our Ideal Candidate
- 5-7 years of Project Management experience in both the construction and engineering industry is required.
- Engineering degree or Technical Diploma with a proven track record in Project Management.
- PMP designation is an asset.
- Must have understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts.
- Proficiency in Project Management software; Microsoft office (word, excel, power point and access); spreadsheets, and simple accounting.
- Be able to solve managerial, financial, and business problems in relation to project management.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
