Bayfield Treatment Centre, a private agency that provides support to children, youth and young adults in a Family Based Care Home setting.
We are seeking applications for Part-Time Youth Support Workers in the Greater Toronto Area. We are specifically encouraging applicants from Durham Region: Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa to apply for this position.
This role provides for the daily care and supervision of Bayfield's children and youth through the use of various relationship building, mentoring, teaching, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills.
The essential duties and responsibilities of a Youth Support Worker:
Provide guidance and mentoring in a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with various special needs such as FASD, DS, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, Self-harm.
Assist the children, youth and young adults to reach their full potential in all aspects of their life.
Create and implement programs to increase opportunities for success in all areas of their life.
Work independently with the individuals while collaborating with the entire support team to implement individualized support plans.
All Youth Support Workers will participate in developing and implementing programs to enhance social and life skills, personal hygiene support, recreational activities and community outings while using consistent and positive behaviour management strategies.
Ensuring safety and security for the individuals on shifts.
Assisting with house tasks such as cleaning and maintenance of the home
Providing Medication Administration and some personal hygiene support.
Qualifications:
Applicant must have at minimum a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Sciences, Social Service Work, or Developmental Services.
A genuine fondness and interest in supporting children, youth and young adults reach their potential.
Demonstrated understanding and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse cultures, experiences and backgrounds.
Must have valid First Aid, CPR
A valid G license with a clean driving record and a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 Million liability insurance.
Clear Child Welfare Background Check.
A current Vulnerable Sector Police Screening.

Pay will include $3 wage enhancement from Government for eligible workers in children, community and social services providing personal direct support services for the activities of daily living
