This is a full-time onsite role based at the St. Thomas construction site.
Your role and key responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards. You will be tasked with managing construction costs, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and implementing cost-control measures to prevent overruns. Additionally, you will enforce comprehensive safety protocols across the construction site working closely with HSE department, ensuring that all activities comply with industry regulations and best practices.
Act as the primary point of contact for external construction and design partners.
Collaborate with Lot Construction Engineers to support project execution and issue resolution.
Coordinate onsite construction activities to ensure alignment with project requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
Provide technical oversight and coordination for the construction of battery cell manufacturing facilities, supporting the implementation of complex technical requirements and adherence to rigorous safety standards.
Ensure accurate and timely project reporting.
Coordinate construction site activities, including planning, safety compliance, quality assurance, and process adherence.
Provide detailed updates on progress, including technical aspects such as clean room validation, equipment installation, and safety compliance.
Quickly address any conflicts, particularly those involving the integration of complex systems or changes in technical specifications to factory project steering
Verify that construction activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards for battery cell manufacturing facilities.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and identify cost variances, providing timely escalation and recommendations for corrective actions when required.
Track construction schedules and key project milestones, coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders to address delays and support on-time project delivery.
Identify, document, and communicate project risks related to construction, quality, safety, schedule, and cost, and support the development and implementation of mitigation measures.
Partner with the Health and Safety team to support the implementation of site safety programs and initiatives.
Assist in promoting compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and safe work practices across project activities.
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure that construction plans are fully aligned with project specifications and objectives.
Oversee the procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring that all resources meet project specifications and quality standards.
Track project milestone progress and proactively identify, communicate, and escalate risks that may impact project scope, schedule, cost, quality, or safety.
Ensure that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations and that any changes are documented and agreed upon.
Regularly monitor the project’s financial performance, providing accurate and timely reports to senior management.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and key stakeholders, including company executives, clients, and regulatory bodies.
What you bring to the team
Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, architecture, electrical or HVAC background or similar education. 5-7 years of experience with construction projects.
Deep knowledge in construction processes, scheduling, quality control and safety coordination.
Experience in participating in projects and technical topics.
Ability to follow through and make significant progress in a fast pace, dynamic environment.
Experience in construction contract law is an asset.
Experience in LEAN Construction Management is an asset.
Experience in initial phase of a battery cell production plant would be considered an asset.
Action oriented work style and strong drive of results.
Integrity and value-driven working style, complaint to rules and regulation.
Adaptable to international teams with cross-cultural communication skills.
Ability to travel both within Canada/US and internationally up to ~ 15%.

Attractive Remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is CAD 88,390 - 110,498, which includes base pay and target amount of short term incentive plan.
