Job description:
SADCS is looking for a passionate Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator who is excited to continue developing their skills as an educator and leader. This role is ideal for an educator who loves working directly with children, while receiving mentorship and support to build skills in supervision, program leadership, and team collaboration within a non-profit child care environment.
Full and part-time Level 3 Early Childhood Educator starting wage is currently $19.57 base wage, dependent on experience, plus $8.62/hr Government Wage Enhancement.
Full and part-time Level 2 Early Child Educator starting wage is currently $17.26 base wage, dependent on experience, plus $5.05/hr Government Wage Enhancement.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based programming aligned with our centre values, program philosophy, and curriculum objectives.
- Build warm, responsive, and inclusive relationships with children, families, and colleagues through open dialogue and ongoing communication.
- Model high standards of practice, professionalism, and reflective learning.
- Collaborate with the team to support curriculum planning, documentation, and environment design.
- Provide in-classroom support room leads with short and long range activities, opportunities to express creativity through a number of mediums and formats, including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
- Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
- Assist with leadership tasks such as mentoring new staff, contributing to program quality initiatives, and providing short term coverage for members of the leadership team.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation, as well as adhere to licensing regulations and centre policies.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of early learning frameworks such as Emerging Curriculum and Flight Curriculum.
- Experience working in an early learning environment with preschool-aged children preferred.
- A desire to develop leadership skills, including communication, team collaboration, and mentorship.
- Current First Aid/CPR, criminal record check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and any other required clearances as requested by management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a reflective, growth-oriented mindset.
