Wave Engineering is looking for an Engineer or Technologist to join our Grande Prairie team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of industrial projects, working directly with clients, and balancing technical problem-solving with project management responsibilities.
You will lead projects across the energy and industrial sectors throughout Northern Alberta, managing projects from initial client discussions and field reviews through design, construction support, and project completion.

What You'll Do
1. Manage Industrial Projects
Lead projects from concept through completion, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and client communication.
2. Build and Manage Client Relationships
Work directly with clients to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
3. Coordinate Multidisciplinary Teams
Work closely with drafting, electrical, structural, civil, and process disciplines to ensure successful project execution.
4. Provide Mechanical Engineering Leadership
Support mechanical design, equipment selection, facility modifications, and technical decision-making while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
5. Work in the Field
Conduct site visits, field reviews, troubleshooting, and construction support activities throughout Northern Alberta.
6. Deliver Successful Outcomes
Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while maintaining strong client satisfaction.
Technical Responsibilities May Include
- Mechanical equipment specification and evaluation.
- Facility, piping, and industrial system design.
- Field assessments and data collection.
- Design reviews and technical oversight.
- Construction and commissioning support.
- Development and review of engineering deliverables, reports, and specifications.
- Coordination with clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) eligible for registration with APEGA, or
- Engineering Technologist (CET or equivalent designation).
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of experience in industrial, energy, oil & gas, municipal, or related projects.
- Experience managing projects or leading significant project scopes.
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience conducting field reviews and site assessments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
