Auto Glass Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Auto Glass Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing vehicle glass with precision and attention to safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, mechanical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Auto Glass Technician plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and professional service.
Duties
- Remove damaged or broken auto glass safely and efficiently using appropriate tools and techniques
- Install new windshields and windows, ensuring proper fitment and sealing to prevent leaks or wind noise
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs
- Inspect vehicles for additional damages or issues related to glass installation or vehicle structure
- Follow safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines during all procedures
- Assist with vehicle preparation, including cleaning surfaces and applying adhesives or sealants as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding services performed and answer any questions they may have
Requirements
- Prior dealership experience or automotive repair background is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity of vehicle components and systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized glass installation equipment
- Ability to lift heavy glass panels safely (up to 50 pounds) and perform heavy lifting tasks as required
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise installation and adherence to safety standards
- Mechanic experience or automotive repair knowledge is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot installation issues quickly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for mobility between job sites
