Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to execute core accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role is responsible for the full cycle of accounting — with a strong emphasis on direct execution, reconciliation accuracy, and strengthening foundational financial processes.
We are looking for someone who actively performs the work, resolves discrepancies personally, and helps stabilize and strengthen our accounting foundation.
You will work closely with finance leadership, operations, and sales to ensure ETI’s financials are precise, timely, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Execute full-cycle accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Lead the month-end close process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Identify and correct historical inconsistencies where necessary.
Catch-Up & Foundation Strengthening
- Support the department’s catch-up initiative by helping close accounting gaps and accelerate progress.
- Clear reconciliation backlogs across bank accounts, credit cards, AR, AP, and inventory.
- Strengthen documentation, audit trails, and supporting schedules.
- Improve reliability and integrity of foundational financial data.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Directly support AP and AR processes to ensure accurate transaction recording.
- Assist in resolving vendor and customer discrepancies.
- Help clear backlogs and improve invoice processing and collections.
- Enhance cash flow visibility through accurate reporting and reconciliations.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Perform detailed inventory reconciliations and COGS analysis.
- Investigate variances between operational movement and financial reporting.
- Support accurate costing across all sales channels.
- Assist in correcting historical inventory discrepancies where needed.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Collaborate with leadership on monthly financial reporting and forecasting.
- Provide variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Support cost management and profitability tracking initiatives.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Once foundational accounting processes are stabilized, identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements.
- Support ERP (Dynamics 365) and BI (Power BI) system enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Recommend practical improvements that strengthen internal controls and scalability.
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain strong internal control standards.
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure financial documentation is complete and organized.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Who This Role Is For:
- Someone who is deeply hands-on and comfortable executing detailed accounting work.
- A professional who does not hesitate to step into transactional tasks when needed.
- An individual experienced in cleaning up or rebuilding financial processes.
- A problem-solver who takes ownership of discrepancies and resolves them proactively.
- Someone who values building strong financial foundations before scaling.
