Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities.
Duties:
· Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
· Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.
· Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support requests.
· Install, modify, and maintain machinery and equipment as required.
· Conduct inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns before failures occur.
· Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
· Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
· Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to minimize downtime.
· Assist with maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
· Journeyperson certification in an industrial trade (Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Electrician, or related trade) preferred.
· Equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience may be considered.
· Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
· Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety.
· Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
Working Conditions:
· Industrial manufacturing environment.
· Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and call-ins as required.
· Frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working in varying environmental conditions.
· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
