Job Overview
Cafe Drew Marine Sharjah originated as a waterfront cafe in the UAE, known for fresh seafood, grilled specialties, and excellent coffee. Now we are bringing that same concept to Vancouver. Our new location will serve marina visitors, office workers, and local residents. We need a Restaurant Manager who can open this location, build the team, and establish our reputation from day one.
Responsibilities
Pre-Opening & Setup (First 90 Days)
- Assist with hiring and training front-of-house staff (servers, hosts, bussers, baristas)
- Set up floor plans, seating charts, and service workflows
- Implement POS system and cash handling procedures
- Coordinate with kitchen team on menu execution and timing
Ongoing Operations (After Opening)
- Manage daily service (lunch, dinner, weekend brunch)
- Supervise front-of-house team (8-12 staff members)
- Handle customer complaints and ensure repeat business
- Monitor labor costs, food waste, and inventory of front-of-house supplies
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff training
- Ensure compliance with Vancouver health and safety regulations
Experience
- 3-5 years of restaurant management experience (full-service, mid to high volume)
- Experience opening a new restaurant is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations (POS, cash handling, table management)
- Valid Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Serving It Right certification (BC)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (non-negotiable)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Reside in or within commuting distance of Vancouver, BC
