As our mechanical division continues to grow, we are looking for a dependable and experienced Licensed 306A Plumber to join our team. This is an opportunity to take on a key role within a growing company, contribute to a wide variety of projects, and help support and mentor the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Position Overview
The Licensed Plumber will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing plumbing systems for residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, take pride in their workmanship, and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
This position may also involve providing guidance to apprentices and junior team members, assisting with project planning and material coordination, and communicating with customers, contractors, suppliers, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, and retrofit residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Complete plumbing work for new construction, renovations, service calls, and retrofit projects.
- Install water supply, drainage, venting, waste, and fixture systems.
- Perform plumbing rough-ins, finishing work, fixture installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide practical, efficient solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing codes, the Ontario Building Code, safety requirements, and company standards.
- Assist with project planning, material takeoffs, estimating, and material sourcing when required.
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, customers, contractors, suppliers, and other trades.
- Provide direction, support, and mentorship to apprentices or junior technicians.
- Complete job documentation, service records, basic scheduling, and internal communications.
- Safely operate and maintain company-provided vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Keep work areas, service vehicles, and equipment clean and organized.
- Maintain high standards of productivity, workmanship, professionalism, and customer service.
- Assist with related mechanical or construction work when required to support project schedules and team workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Journeyperson Plumber Certificate of Qualification – 306A.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, plumbing codes, and applicable industry regulations.
- Minimum five years of plumbing experience preferred.
- Experience with residential and commercial plumbing installations, renovations, repairs, and retrofits.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional and respectful approach when working with customers, coworkers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and able to manage changing priorities.
- Comfortable using basic technology and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Additional Assets
The following qualifications are considered assets but are not required:
- Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or mentorship role.
- Commercial or light-industrial plumbing experience.
- Backflow prevention certification.
