Jettkey Equipment is looking for an experienced, high-level Lead Hand – Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team.
This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for someone who not only confidently diagnoses and repairs a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues with minimal supervision, but also serves as a go-to person in the shop—someone the team can rely on for guidance, support, and technical direction when challenging jobs arise. If you’re the technician everyone turns to when difficult jobs come in, we want to talk to you.
Our shop works on a diverse fleet of equipment, providing challenging work and the opportunity to continually expand your skills in both hands-on repair and leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, major repairs, and component rebuilds
- Troubleshoot equipment efficiently to minimize downtime
- Test and operate equipment to verify repairs and performance
- Maintain accurate service records and a safe, organized work environment
- Support and mentor other mechanics by providing guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and sharing technical expertise
- Act as the first point of contact in the shop for technical questions and support
- Help coordinate workflow in the shop and assist in prioritizing repairs when needed
- Promote high-quality workmanship and ensure repairs meet shop standards before completion
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of heavy equipment repair experience
- Strong diagnostic abilities across multiple equipment brands and systems
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and controls
- Ability to work independently and manage jobs from diagnosis through completion
- Comfortable guiding and supporting other technicians in their work
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
- Journeyman/421A certification considered an asset
