Our client is an industry-leading producer of commercial and military vertical-lift aircraft, producing the majority of commercial helicopter lines worldwide. Additionally, they have manufactured nearly 5000 aircraft for delivery while maintaining an internationally renowned expertise in airframe design, product development, flight testing, certification, final assembly, parts manufacturing in composite, customization and customer support.
The technical writer will be responsible for writing a comprehensive and precise manual providing detailed instructions for the repair and maintenance of the structural components of the 525 aircraft. They will also be required to write similar technical manuals for all client aircraft models.
Summary of job description
- Researching and understanding the structural components and systems of the 525 aircraft.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather technical information and specifications.
- Writing clear, concise, and accurate procedural instructions for the repair and maintenance of all aircraft systems and structural components.
- Organizing and presenting information in a logical and user-friendly manner.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Reviewing and revising manuals based on feedback and updates.
Minimum required qualifications
- Hold a college diploma in a relevant field, or a university degree.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance and a good knowledge of aeronautical systems, their interfaces and their operation is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in technical writing tools and software such as FrameMaker and Arbortext, or any other technical software.
- Basic understanding of S1000D, XML, IETM, and content management systems is required.
- Strong ability to interpret technical documentation such as engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, is required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Functional knowledge in French is required
- Excellent communication skills in English is required for this position, as it involves communication in English with client teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers, partners, and clients outside of Quebec.
