Climbing Arborist
Job Summary
Toronto Tree Removal Inc. is seeking an experienced Climbing Arborist to join our team of professional arborists, knuckleboom crane operators, and grapple saw operators.
The successful candidate will work primarily as a full-time climber, performing tree pruning and removals, including work involving mature trees. This role requires strong climbing and rigging skills, a commitment to safe work practices, and the ability to work effectively as part of a professional tree care crew.
We are looking for a dependable and skilled individual who takes pride in their work, communicates well with both clients and team members, and is interested in growing within the company.
Responsibilities
- Safely climb trees using appropriate climbing equipment and techniques
- Perform tree pruning and removals, including mature and complex trees
- Implement proper rigging techniques to safely lower branches and sections of trees
- Work alongside knuckleboom crane and grapple saw operators during tree care and removal operations
- Secure loads safely on trucks and trailers
- Inspect and properly use climbing and rigging equipment
- Follow company safety procedures and directions from crew leadership
- Maintain a safe and organized work site
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and team members
- Confidently discuss tree work, recommendations, and scope of work with clients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in tree climbing, rigging, pruning, and removals
- Strong knowledge of safe climbing and rigging practices
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work safely and efficiently
- Valid G driver's licence required
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients regarding tree work
- DZ or AR licence preferred
- ISA Certification considered an asset
