Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Drug Testing Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves conducting drug screening procedures accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with drug testing protocols and confidentiality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical setting such as a laboratory environment and has a strong understanding of medical terminology. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to workplace safety and support clinical operations in a professional healthcare setting. Training to become certified as a drug technician is available and will be paid by company.
Duties
- Use of breathalyzer, collection of urine or saliva samples following established Department of Transportation guidelines
- Prepare and label samples accurately for laboratory analysis
- Complete detailed documentation of testing processes and results
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality throughout the specimen collection process
- Assist with inventory management of testing supplies and materials
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, sterile work environment
- Communicate professionally with clients, patients, and team members regarding testing procedures and results
- Answer phone calls and emails to book appointments
- Being available to come into the office for post accident after-hours testing
Requirements
- Prior medical/laboratory experience preferred
- Certification or training in drug testing is highly desirable, however training can be provided
- Knowledge of how to use a computer along with scanning, faxing, and telephone use
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to specimen collection and testing
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in specimen handling and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate care
- Ability to follow strict safety and confidentiality protocols
- Flexibility to get called in as needed for after-hours testing, including weekends or holidays if required
- Must pass criminal record/background checks and adhere to all health and safety regulations
Clinic hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
