Structural & Miscellaneous Metals Fitter / Installer (Experienced Only)
Full-Time, Permanent
Up to $40 per hour for highly experienced candidates
Lex Metal is a custom metal fabrication company specializing in structural steel and miscellaneous metals, including stairs, railings, frames, and custom fabricated metal work. We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter / Installer who can work independently from shop drawings and maintain high standards of quality.
This position is intended for experienced fitters only. Entry-level applicants will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret structural steel and miscellaneous metal shop drawings
- Layout and fit structural steel, stairs, railings, and custom metal assemblies
- Fabricate and prepare miscellaneous metal components for installation
- Install structural steel and miscellaneous metals on active construction sites
- Maintain proper alignment, squareness, and tolerances
- Follow shop and site safety requirements
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience fitting structural steel and miscellaneous metals
- Strong ability to read and work from shop drawings without supervision
- Proven experience fitting stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metal components
- Experience with structural connections (base plates, embeds, clip angles, etc.)
- CWB welding certification preferred
- Working at Heights certification required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
