We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team in Canada. Based in our office, the Estimator will play a vital role in preparing accurate project bids and ensuring competitive pricing to support our company's growth and success.

Robust estimating is a cornerstone of our success which has spanned over 50 year and we are now looking to strengthen our team. Our estimating team are an integral part of our business project management infrastructure working closely with both business development and project management departments. The pace and dynamic nature of construction, means the successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong organization skills, tenacity and the ability to manage several competing priorities simultaneously.
While estimating experience is a pre-requisite for this role, a positive attitude, proactive approach and excellent interpersonal skills are also key requirements.
Responsibilities
- Close tender, fill tender forms, and send price to client
- Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, addendums in preparation for pricing
- Perform take-offs
- Attend pre-bid site visits. (Own vehicle is required)
- Prepare or assist with technical documentation for tender submissions and tender pre-qualifications
- Obtains pricing from trades and suppliers and incorporate into estimate
- Prepare and send tender questions
- Prepare preliminary project schedule
- Liaise with client and sub-trades to ensure completeness and accuracy of tender submissions
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years estimating experience with a General Contractor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in an ICI environment
- CET / P. Eng would be a distinct advantage
- Tenacious self-starter
- Ability to work well with diverse teams
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
