SUMMARY – Yard Worker
Shift: Saturday 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM; Sunday 07:00 AM- 03:00 PM; On Call week

KEY ACTIVITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performing Weekend Yard Checks: All units in the yard must be verified by confirming yard location, reefer status and load status.

Checking trailers and equipment on-site in the yard, opening and closing trailer doors, and verifying contents

Checking fuel levels of equipment (trailers, including reefers) on the yard and prior to leaving, responsible for refueling any equipment found with low fuel levels.

Recording identification numbers of equipment in yard, being prepared to walk the yard outdoors regardless of weather conditions (provided appropriate PPE)

Verifying paperwork for all loads in the yard and that set temperatures are accurate, reporting any discrepancies to the onsite supervisor

Updating spreadsheets in the computer system to accurately reflect equipment pool.

Having the supervisor sign off on the reefer check that all loads have been accounted for, fuel levels, and set temperatures are sufficient.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education:
-
High School Diploma is an asset
Experience
-
Applicants must have experience in using Google docs, tablets and be willing and able to train using in-house software
-
Written and oral communication skills
-
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to read and understand the English language at a grade 12 level
-
Should be prepared to work in all weather conditions as this role is entirely outdoor.
