We are looking for a Store Manager who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys developing people, and leads by example. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining high operational standards, and creating an exceptional experience for every guest.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café.
- Lead opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, food safety, and operational standards.
- Manage daily workflow and labour allocation.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Complete daily reports and operational documentation.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and support the team through positive and professional leadership.
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Work closely with supervisors and senior management.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and workplace standards.
Customer Experience
- Deliver warm, genuine hospitality every day.
- Resolve customer concerns calmly, professionally, and with sound judgement.
- Create a welcoming environment for both guests and team members.
Coffee & Product Quality
- Maintain strong knowledge of specialty coffee and espresso equipment.
- Ensure beverage quality and efficient station workflow.
- Support pastry presentation and quality standards.
- Previous bakery or pastry experience is considered an asset.
Operational Responsibilities
This is a hands-on management role. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in daily café operations, including:
- Barista duties during service
- Shift leadership
- Opening and closing the café
- Inventory management and stock counts
- Ordering and supplier communication
- Waste management and stock rotation
- Labour planning and scheduling
- Cash handling and reconciliation
- POS troubleshooting
- Equipment maintenance and issue reporting
- Staff training and coaching
- Daily operational reporting
- Maintaining cleaning standards
- Preparing for health and safety inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of management or leadership experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, flexible, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and accountable.
- Passion for hospitality and developing people.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
- First Aid & CPR certification is considered an asset.
