Landscape Maintenance Technician
Location: Parksville, BC and surrounding Vancouver Island service area
Schedule: Full-time seasonal, 30–40 hours/week, April to November
Pay: $23–$28/hr depending on experience, reliability, and skill level
Outside Concepts Landscaping is looking for a reliable, hardworking seasonal team member to support our landscape maintenance, cleanup, and small project crews in the Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, and surrounding areas.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in clean and consistent results, and is comfortable working on residential properties, strata sites, and small commercial landscapes. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently, follow directions, care about the details, and represent the company professionally on client properties.
Responsibilities
- Mow, trim, edge, blow, and clean up lawn areas to company standards
- Weed, cultivate, rake, and maintain garden beds
- Prune, trim, and shape shrubs, hedges, and small ornamental plantings
- Complete spring, summer, and fall cleanups, including leaf and debris removal
- Install and spread mulch, soil, gravel, and other landscape materials
- Assist with planting, shrub removal, sod work, edging, and small landscape upgrades
- Assist with irrigation start-ups, repairs, inspections, and winterizations when needed
- Load, unload, move, and stage tools, materials, green waste, and equipment
- Take before and after photos when required
- Follow site checklists, crew directions, and company service standards
- Communicate respectfully with clients, team members, and supervisors
- Keep trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and cared for
- Follow safe work practices at all times
Qualifications
- Landscaping, groundskeeping, construction, or outdoor labour experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate common landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a small crew
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working outdoors in varying weather
- Comfortable with repetitive physical work, bending, lifting, walking, and using equipment for extended periods
- Driver’s license preferred
- Trailer experience, irrigation knowledge, plant knowledge, or pruning experience is an asset
- Willingness to learn and follow Outside Concepts’ systems and standards
