Fire Prevention and Life Safety Consultant

Ignis Building Solutions is a leader in fire prevention and life safety consulting across Ontario. We help clients reduce risk, meet regulatory requirements, and protect people and property through high‑quality inspections, assessments, and technical expertise. We’re expanding our Ottawa team and seeking a skilled Fire Prevention and Life Safety Consultant to support our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fire and life safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits
- Support development of fire safety plans and emergency procedures
- Support emergency planning, equipment evaluations, and training needs
- Mentor junior consultants on fire safety plans and emergency procedures
- Review sites for compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations
- Interpret codes and standards (NFPA, ULC, building/fire codes)
- Prepare technical reports and system evaluations
- Assist with fire safety training delivery
- Build strong client relationships and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Diploma/degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Engineering, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3–5 years of fire prevention or life safety experience
- CFAA or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, fire protection principles, and safety regulations
- Experience with building plan reviews
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD familiarity is an asset
- Valid Ontario G licence + reliable vehicle; willingness to travel to client sites across the Ottawa region

Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour
