Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Myo-Functional Therapist to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing specialized therapy to children with orofacial and musculoskeletal challenges, focusing on improving function and quality of life. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients to identify myo-functional issues affecting speech, swallowing, breathing, and posture
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's needs, utilizing evidence-based techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to coordinate patient care
- Collect and analyze data related to treatment progress and outcomes for ongoing case management and research purposes
- Educate parents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, strategies, and home programs to support continued progress outside clinical sessions
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and case management records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Stay current with advancements in pediatric myo-functional therapy through ongoing research and professional development
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a clinical or educational setting; experience in hospital environments is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatrics, speech therapy, and patient care practices
- Familiarity with case management principles and data collection methods for tracking patient progress
- Background in research within pediatric or related healthcare fields is desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience or training in special education is beneficial for tailoring therapy approaches to diverse needs
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care while adhering to ethical standards and best practices in therapy services
Pay: $55.00-$65.00 per hour
