Assistant Project Manager (Commercial / QSR)

About the Company
We are Owner’s Project Management firm specializing in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) new builds and renovation projects across Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northern Ontario, and British Columbia.
We are not a General Contractor(GC). We manage scope, schedule, and risk on behalf of franchisees using a disciplined, systems-driven approach.
The Role
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to in delivering multiple fast-paced QSR projects simultaneously.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordination, follow-through, and problem-solving, and who wants to grow within a high-performing project management environment.
You will work closely with:
- the Lead Project Manager
- internal Project Coordinators,
- Contract Administrators,
- external consultants, GCs, and franchisees.
The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining high standards of quality, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
- Support delivery of QSR renovations, new builds and interior fit-up projects
- Coordinate day-to-day with General Contractors, consultants, and vendors
- Track schedules against baseline plans
- Identify risks early and escalate appropriately
Design & Pre-Construction Support
- Assist with design management tracking (drawings, milestones, issues)
- Flag scope gaps, clashes, or late design changes
- Support design freeze requirements before construction
Construction Phase Support
- Monitor construction progress and sequencing
- Support inspection coordination and deficiency resolution
- Ensure project documentation and logs are kept current (with coordinator support)
Communication & Reporting
- Prepare clear internal and client-facing project updates
- Participate and lead coordination meetings and calls
- Maintain professional, brand-aligned communication at all times
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination
- Must be based in Calgary or surrounding areas
- Exposure to retail, QSR, or multi-site projects
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Clear written and verbal communication
Nice to Have
- QSR experience
- Experience working across multiple provinces
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar tools
