Wilson Timber Mart is a building materials retailer proudly serving the Bancroft and surrounding area for more than 50 years. We offer a wide range of building materials combined with a friendly and knowledgeable team. We are looking for a courteous individual with a strong work ethic to join our team as a Driver/Yard Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
- Maintain accurate and complete records associated with the dispatch of vehicles including daily inspection logs
- Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections on vehicle and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements
- Work in a friendly and respectful manner with clients and other team members
- Communicate with management team regarding travel plan and promptly provide feedback to management regarding customer problems or delivery problems
- Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Clean and make minor repairs to maintain the fleet and immediately report and vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
Requirements & Skills
- Candidate must have a clean driver's abstract and a valid DZ license
- Should have the ability to lift up to 60 lbs,
- License and experience operating a truck mounted boom is an asset, but training will be provided
- License and experience operating a forklift is an asset, but training will be provided
- Previous building material background is an asset
Full Time, Year Round Position

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
