ABOUT THE JOB
Position: First Cook
Terms of Employment: Full time availability.
Job Duties:
- Lead the Kitchen Line in preparation of steaks, sides and full course meals,
- Train and educate new employees and cooks,
- Ensure high quality on food service and consistency,
- Work with specialized cooking equipment(sous vide, band saw, broiler, steam kettle, etc)
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation,
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications,
- Help in menu development and recipe creation,
- Meet dietary requirements where required and necessary,
- Troubleshoot problems and situations that may arise,
- work with team members to ensure success.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience - Extensive knowledge about cooking temperatures, cooking techniques, handling procedures and butchery including how to clean, cut and trim various meats, fish and poultry.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and skills through example.
- Availability must include weekends and late nights.
- Ability to communicate well with back and front of house staff.
- Experience in high volume restaurant required.
