Project Coordinator
The Henderson Group is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Project Coordinator with experience in Civil Construction and Engineering to join our growing team.
In this role, you will support the planning, coordination, and administration of construction projects from initiation through to closeout. Working closely with Project Managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and clients, you will help ensure projects are organized, documented, and progressing in alignment with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
This position is in office, located in Port Hope, ON
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities
· Support feasibility reviews, budgeting preparation, and project setup documentation
· Act as a point of contact between internal teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication
· Track and review shop drawings and submittals for completeness and compliance
· Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment in collaboration with site teams
· Monitor project progress, productivity, and cost tracking; prepare regular project reports
· Assist in preparing and pricing change orders, site instructions, and work orders
· Support monthly progress billings and follow up on invoicing and payment status
· Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports
· Participate in site meetings and safety meetings as required
· Support quality control processes and ensure documentation aligns with company and regulatory standards
· Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover packages
· Promote and uphold Henderson’s safety culture and compliance practices
· Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
· Other Duties as required
What We’re Looking For:
- Graduate of a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Mechanical Engineering program
- 2–5 years of experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or project coordination
- Self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory practices
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Committed, proactive, and capable of adapting to dynamic project environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
