The Delta St. John's Hotel is a 403 room fast paced, high volume conference hotel. We strive to foster a strong service culture and team environment so that the needs of our guests and associates are met in equal measure.
We are seeking a qualified Guest Service Agent. While this is CASUAL position, you can expect consistent work hours through our Tourist season. We offer an attractive wage and benefits package, in addition, uniforms, bi-weekly vacation, discounted meals, Rewards Program, along with many travel perks with Marriott Hotels. This position involves evenings & weekends at this time and preference will be given to candidates with previous Hotel Front Desk experience.
A Valid Open Work permit is required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To check-in/check-out guests;

To handle cash transactions and balance daily cash flow;

To meet and greet guests providing necessary information to ensure a satisfactory stay

To take guest reservations and explain in detail rates, rooms and outlets;

Up sell rooms and property in general;
-
Following all Brand Standards in relation to Front Office requirements.

Excellent Customer Service & relationship skills required.

Attention to detail is a must.

Other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Minimum of Grade XII education or equivalent required;
-
Experience with Opera, MARSHA, NU Edge PBX an asset.

Computer Keyboard typing proficiency required

Previous cash handling experience required.

One year’s hotel experience in similar position preferred; however, Hospitality/Travel & Tourism certificate from a recognized college will be considered;

Knowledge of French, an asset;

Positive, enthusiastic, outgoing personality a definite must;

Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills;

Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum supervision;

Previous accounting experience an asset;

Ability to up sell hotel facilities required;

Must be honest, reliable and dependable;

Must be in good health and practice good hygiene;

Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skills.
