The Resort Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at Grand Valley - Daiva RV Resorts (located in Grand Valley, ON), ensuring high standards of service, safety, and operational excellence. This hands-on leadership role requires managing staff, facilities, guest relations, and operational systems while achieving financial objectives. This role is ideal for 1 or 2 people who enjoy hospitality, property operations, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Utilize company systems and standard operating procedures to manage the resort efficiently. Monitor property performance and implement corrective actions to optimize operations.
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including check-in/check-out procedures, housekeeping, recreation programs, and guest services.
- Coordinate with other property Staff to ensure smooth operation across the resort.
2. Customer Service
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Develop and oversee the recreation program through supporting the social committees and facilitating programs, activities, and events to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
- Monitor guest feedback through reviews and direct interactions, implementing improvements as needed.
3. Facility Management
- Maintain and oversee resort facilities, including grounds, amenities, and accommodations.
- Monitor pools, wells/water systems, septic/waste systems, hydro systems, and other operational infrastructure.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely resolution of issues to prevent guest disruption.
- Ensure resorts are clean, organized, and compliant with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
4. Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise resort staff and volunteers (if applicable).
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
- Develop staff schedules, monitor performance, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Ensure staff adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and service standards.
5. Financial Oversight
- Monitor revenue and track expenses working with the Accounting Department to maintain positive vendor relationships.
- Implement strategies to maximize occupancy, increase revenue opportunities, and control costs.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the VP and Sales Manager to develop pricing strategies, promotional offers, and incentive programs.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures for guests and staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to maintain safety and operational standards.
7. Marketing and Promotion
- Work with the Marketing Manager to implement promotional campaigns, social media initiatives, and advertising strategies.
- Assist in developing seasonal offers, packages, and events to attract new guests and retain existing customers.
- Maintain strong communication with resort guests and prospective visitors to promote the resort’s services.
8. Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate operational, financial, and staff records.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the VP on operational performance, occupancy, guest satisfaction, and financial metrics.
- Ensure proper documentation of incident reports, safety inspections, and maintenance logs.
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of experience in resort, hospitality, or property management operations preferred.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
