WHO WE ARE
Located in downtown Oakville, XII – Old Fashioned Restaurant is a new and exciting concept taking Old Oakville by storm. Starring a simple à la carte menu of ‘Nothing but the Best’ steak cuts, fresh seafood and local favourites and paired with classic libations and a star-studded wine list.
While dining the entertainment on stage will make you feel like you were part of history. Each night, our stage will have live crooners, jazz and big band performing classics; it’s dinner and a show all in one; the cat’s meow!
THE JOB
We are looking for a MAÎTRE D’ to join our team!
Reporting to the Owner, the MAÎTRE D’ is the first and last impression for our guests, and as such, this role should never be undervalued. This individual is a personal representation of the service and overall brand experience. Whether guests are walking by the entrance or inquiring about the restaurant, it is their job to ensure our guests feel welcomed, gain knowledge and are appreciated.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a positive presence at the entrance of our restaurant that begins with a friendly greeting and warm smile, curb side or even in house
- Showcase our restaurant to patrons walking by or in the neighbourhood
- Display restaurant and menu knowledge to all potential guests to attempt to entice them to dine immediately or in the future
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly
- Recognize and acknowledge regulars, pals of XII and gain popularity on the street and curb
- Create authentic connections in every interaction. Elevate the guest experience through fun, engaging and meaningful conversations with guests.
- Act as an ambassador of XII to bring guests in and be a presence street level
- You will be the 1st impression at the entrance and last when guests depart. XII’s street side salesperson that acts the crooning part and is in full Rat Pack uniform.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years’ experience in similar high-volume environment
- A positive, energetic outlook and a keen eye for detail
- Enjoys working with people, outgoing and has a passion for hospitality
- Has a flair for the theatrics
- Ability to proactively anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations
- Excellent communication skills and salesmanship
- Able to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Understands the dynamic of a team working towards the common goal

Our pay range is $20 - $23 per hour plus gratuities
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
