We are seeking a team-oriented individual with talent and a desire for small-town living who can help us create remarkable experiences at our historic hotel.
Who Are We?
Owner-operated and community-focused, the Wells Hotel is seeking to elevate our historic Cariboo Gold Rush icon to a destination accommodation, with a renewed vision for ambience, design, and experience. Guest experience plays a central role in building our vision.
We are committed to mentoring and supporting career development for youth in hospitality, and we are hiring several positions as part of the Canada Summer Jobs Youth Employment Program, including two Front Desk Clerks.
To be eligible for these positions you must be:
- between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the job
- a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or person with refugee status
The Tasks
- Coordinating room reservations, cancellations, check-ins, and check-outs using a digital reservation system.
- Taking payment, processing refunds, and adjusting room rates for fees and discounts.
- Printing daily housekeeping reports and providing updates on room status to the staff team.
- Logging maintenance requests in the digital room management system.
- Acting as a first point of contact for guests upon arrival and facilitating check-in.
- Assisting with the movement of guest luggage.
- Assisting with booking and purchases from Hotel retail, commissary, and custom experiences
- Learning about local attractions, amenities, and events, and providing information to guests about Wells and area.
- Answering emails and phone calls and responding to messages.
- Setting up and tearing down morning coffee and continental breakfast setup.
- Cleaning, tidying, and removing garbage and recycling from lobby, lounge, and common areas.
- Assisting with laundry and custodial tasks
- Monitoring work areas for safety and sanitation issues
- Responding to guest complaints and challenges and collaborating with the staff team to find appropriate solutions.
- Collaborating with the staff team to create services and practices for exceptional guest experiences.
What you’ll get:
- Full-time 8-week position starting in June, 2026
- Wage of $19.00/hr
