Childcare Volunteers assist staff in providing high quality care for children aged 2-12Y by helping monitor safety and engaging children through play in our Child Development Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time and ready for shift wearing proper uniform.
- Actively and enthusiastically participate with children 2-12Y.
- Encourage a positive play-based environment for children.
- Help plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities.
- Greet parents and children in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Help ensure the safety of all children in the childcare facility by being aware of situations and the environment.
- Assist with cleaning the space and supplies.
- Willing and adaptable to learning new processes and following procedure.
- Regularly check messages and maintain communication with supervisors.
- Be responsible for logging hours on appropriate time sheets.
- Be enthusiastic and welcoming!
Work Term:
- July - September.
- Weekdays and weekends
- Day and evening hours - Approximately 4 hours/week
- 2 shifts/week. Shifts are 2-3 hours long
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
- Between 13 and 17 years of age.
- Completion of minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR C or Bronze Medallion.
- Completion of Volunteer Training – Provided by Westside.
- Ability to engage with children 2-12Y.
